I’m Charlo, the founder of Seavu — and I’ve always had a connection with the sea. As a kid, I could sit for hours watching my aquarium — completely mesmerised. It felt like a window into another world. That fascination never left me. Underwater footage is incredible, but watching it live is something else. Unless you’re a diver, most people never really get to experience it.

After a career in mobile communications in London, I returned home to Australia, yearning to reconnect with the sea. Fishing has always been a passion, but even with the best gear and knowledge, I still felt like I was guessing what was happening below. I wanted more than sonar or instincts — I wanted to see it in real time.

That idea led to Seavu.

Real-time underwater viewing has long felt out of reach. Action cameras lose connection the moment they go under, and Wi-Fi doesn’t travel through water.
